The helmet covered with black fur. With attached gilded Italian royal eagle with the Savoy Cross as breastplate. The eagle's plumage of  fine quality. On the front a silver-plated and gilded star with the crowned cipher "U" for King Umberto I. Gilded, attached openwork crest with volute-shaped decoration. Silver-plated chin scales with floral decorations. Lining of finest dark red silk (somewhat worn). Brown leather sweatband with gold embossed decoration.

Complete with magnificent white parade plume of vulture feathers in excellent condition.
