304 Silver presentation cup from SS - Standartenführer Kurt Meyer to SS - Obersturmbannführer Max Wünsche.
The silver drinking cup on the front with engraved LAH - emblem of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler, below the engraving: "12. SS - Pz.Div. Hitlerjugend". On the reverse the engraved dedication:
"To
the commander of Pz. Rgt.12 / SS. Obersturmbannführer Max Wünsche / on the 20th of April 1944 / the Pz. Gren. Rgt. 25 / Meyer (signature ) / SS - Standartenführer u.Rgt. Kdr.".
Silver stamp "800" and maker's mark on the upper rim of the cup. Inside gilded.
Height 77 mm.
The
misspelling of "April" and the hallmark indicate that this cup was made
in France or Belgium. The engraving extremely finely executed and lined
with black lacquer.
In the original case. Inside lid with photo of Max Wünsch in SS panzer uniform as Sturmbannführer.
With
original cuff title of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler in hand-embroidered officer's design in silver-plated metal threads. End pieces trimmed and with thread remnants (detached from a uniform),
This ensemble comes from the possession of a US - veteran. It is not known whether the cuff title was owned by Max Wünsch, but it is very likely.
Absolutely authentic ensemble of great rarity.
