353 Italy. Helmet of a Cavalry Officer, 1861-1871.

 Silver plated helmet bell with attached fire gilded embossed crest, the top as a lion's head. On the front the crowned cipher "VE" King Vittorio Emanuele II. The helmet in the lower part trimmed in bearskin with large silver-plated Savoy cross. Chin scales fire-gilt on rosettes. Original egret feathers on side - parade breastplate on bursting grenade. Original black silk lining with wide reddish brown leather sweatband.

 In beautiful original black linen covered case with gilded carrying handle. Inner lining ofreddish brown velvet with separate recess for the comb.

 Beautiful helmet in the very best quality and condition. In this excellent condition only hard to get.
