227 Imperial Ottoman Zarf (Holder for Mocha Bowls).
Gold, the walls in turquoise and blue enamel and finely chased. With applied green enamelled wine leaves with grape clusters formed of pearls. The stand "en suite" enamelled and guilloché.
The mocha bowl holder (zarf), widespread in the former Ottoman Empire, was used at the Ottoman imperial court in a wide variety of luxurious designs, primarily made of gold and set with precious stones.
A particularly beautiful and finely worked example from the 1st half of the 19th century.
